My name is Amy Beaven and I love to create art out of wood. 

I started doing woodworking in 2002 when I decided my husband’s wooden dresser was in desperate need of refinishing.  After completing a few refinishing projects, I decided I wanted to create my own designs out of wood.  I started with some simple scroll saw cut-outs using patterns and then created my own patterns.  I moved on to making small boxes and learned how to decorate them using the technique known as ‘marquetry’ (making pictures out of wood).  All wood colors in my artwork are natural; no dyes or stains are used.
